Peking Dragon Restaurant

We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and we were glad we chose this spot. The interior is very nice and well-designed. They have a very extensive menu, which can accommodate anyone’s taste, and we really appreciated them having the Peking duck, which was delicious. The waiters are a bit detached. Overall, we enjoyed our visit.

We have been coming to Peking Dragon for 20 years and I am finally getting around to writing a review. Every single one of my experiences at this Chinese restaurant have been 5 star. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter and she wanted Peking Dragon. With the reservation for 7 we were seated immediately. We ordered drinks, enjoyed the atmosphere in our private dining room, and a little later we ordered food. We started with sizzling rice soup. And our main course included Mandarin Shrimp (our family favorite), Garlic Fried Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Mu-Shu Chicken. At the end of the meal Kevin and team surprised us with Macha Ice Cream served with a candle and a smoky platter. So Cool! Our daughter was all smiles as we embarrassed her with pitchy and out-of-tune singing. What a great night at Peking Dragon!

It is clear that this restaurant has just sold. The new owners are missing the ball. In the old days when you sat down the water and tea came instantly now you have to ask for tea. There's also no soy sauce on the tables. You have to ask for soy sauce. The gracious hospitality is not quite there as it was before. However the staff was very nice. All the lunch specials are $16 to $18 at are mostly chicken. And the specials are not terribly exciting. I hope they get better.

Went at Christmas. It was the most disorganized cluster f--- I've ever seen. They basically took reservations for every person that called with zero way to take them in. On Christmas, you can't just change your plans and go somewhere else. Our reservations were at 5:00 and at 5:40 we were still waiting. Absolute joke. Edit: Gave up at 6:00. We will be eating boxed spaghetti for Christmas. I want to make it my life goal to tell everyone I know to never go near this place.

I have been here several times over the past few years with my dining experiences being decent (but not exceptional) ....so with guests coming in from out of town for Christmas I went ahead and made reservations for a party of nine via Google several weeks in advance...got all the confirmations and reminders of my reservation the day of... All good until I arrived ahead of time for my reservation and realized the hoards of people lined up flowing out of the front doors of the restaurant were all still waiting to be seated with reservations an hour prior to mine...I knew my reservation was worthless at that point. I could write a book about this experience but I will hold back and just highly recommend you do not go here ....will find a better trusty Chinese restaurant somewhere else. I deserve better Not recommended!!

Finally, Chinese food on West Coast thats pretty close to East coast style. It was a picture of an egg roll posted by a reviewer that compelled me to drive 35 min in opposite direction from where I was headed. The egg roll size and external texture were close, the filling lacked the spices but had cabbage, shrimp and crumpled pork. Served with hot mustard and duck sauce. A win in my book! Also had a glass Japanese plum wine. My entree was kung pao chicken. It was properly prepared. Every ingredient was diced and in relative size. Except the peanuts, of course. The aroma hit me first. I just breathed in the aroma for a moment before my first bite. No disappointment here. The decor was original late 80s booths and backing in pastel and muted colors like teal and dusty rose. But well cared for and clean! Very attentative, mature servers. This is OLD school comfort American Chinese food - restaurant. Lots of food to take away too. A happy diner i am. Note: the menu is geared toward shareable dishes. Eg., egg rolls were 4 for 13.00. But the allowed me a half order.
